Hi, I'm Cherry Lai — the founder of Basque & Co. I bring the beloved taste of Hong Kong-style desserts to the UK. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I began learning the art of creating sweet treats by the age of 12 — long before it ever felt like a skill, it simply felt like home.
After moving to Scotland, I spent five years working as a dessert chef, supplying Asian restaurants across the UK. Those years shaped not just my technique, but my belief that food is one of the most powerful ways to carry a culture with you.
Every dessert at Basque & Co is crafted with care and passion, aiming to share not just flavours but also the warmth and memories of home. We hope that each bite takes you on a little journey back to the streets, cafés, and sweet moments of Hong Kong.
